I'm João, a photographer from Lisbon. I work in black and white because colour distracts — what matters is structure, silence, and the solitary figure against the weight of a city.
My images are born from urban solitude: corridors at dusk, strangers swallowed by fog, architecture that outlives its inhabitants. Every frame is a fragment of a larger, unspoken story — a dark narrative told in contrast and negative space.
I photograph places across the world, chasing the same quiet tension wherever I land. The camera I carry is a Fujifilm X100VI — compact, silent, precise. It sees the way I see.
